This month we're dealing with health issues. Last week we spoke of mental health but this week we want to visit physical health. So many people suffer from chronic disease or pain, and it really takes a toll on the mind, body, and spirit. It can lead you to feel defeated every day you wake up and your back hurts too much to play with your children or your diabetes doesn't allow you to eat a normal family dinner. Remember though, these old bodies are only temporary, and the scripture says the inward man is renewed day by day. Maybe that doesn't take away the physical pain... but knowing that our heavenly bodies will experience no pain, no sorrow, and no tears... that's something to look forward to!

That's not to say that God can't heal you. And we pray first and foremost for your healing. But also for your spirit man to be renewed and that cloud of defeat to be lifted.

Bible Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:16 KJV - For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

Faith ApplicationCommit to praying every day this week and fasting one day a week. Pray when you want. Remember, you may not pray an hour a day but don't let an hour go by without communicating with God. On your fast day, fast whatever you feel, but let it be a sacrifice; let it be from the heart. Fast something that has become an idol in your life and takes up your time and your energy in place of moments with God.

Prayer Focus: Lord, I come to you this week diseased, hurting, and in pain. But I thank you for your promise to never leave nor forsake us. Sometimes I hurt so bad that I can't think beyond my current struggle. On the difficult days, please ease my pain and help me focus on your goodness and faithfulness. Let your overwhelming peace wash over me and remind me Your mercies are new every morning. I pray for complete healing in my body, complete healing in my mind, and complete healing in my spirit. Take away the spirit of defeat for through you all things are possible.
